Granite Links (Once again) Flies Flags of Support

Quincy, MA – October 18, 2013  -  In a show of Boston sports solidarity, Granite Links has once again changed out its regular golf course pin flags, this time to fly specially made ones bearing the Red Sox iconic circle logo.

The 27 hole championship golf course had previously shown the same enthusiasm and respect when the Bruins made it deep in the playoffs including their 2011 Stanley Cup victory.  Now with a 3-games-to-2 lead in the ALCS, the Red Sox have a chance to win the American League at home this weekend and move on to the World Series.

Tom O’Connell, principal owner of Granite Links, said “We’re fans too!” adding that he hopes there’s reason to keep the new flags in place for a couple more weeks. “This is the best time of year for Boston sports,” he said, pointing out that the Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics, Patriots and even the New England Revolution are all in action while it’s also perfect weather for fall golf!

Granite Links is known to attract a large local and visiting sports celebrity clientele to its top quality golf course with the athletes frequently making friendly stops at the Crossing Nines outdoor patio bar for photos, which the club shares on its Facebook site.
