New Golf Program to Feature Local Amateurs Competing in 3-Hole Shootout

Boston, MA (June 12, 2006) - CN8, The Comcast Network tees off a new program, "The CN8 Golf Shootout," with its debut episode airing SUNDAY, June 25 at 10:00 PM/ET. The show will highlight 32 amateur golfers competing as 16 teams of two in a series of 3-hole shootouts. Featuring the "best of the best" golfers from area clubs, "The CN8 Golf Shootout," hosted by renowned scratch golfer Bob "Monty" Montgomery and featuring course-side commentary from CN8's own scratch golfer, Kevin Walsh, reveals what happens when top amateur players compete for a grand prize and local bragging rights.

"We're thrilled to produce the network's most ambitious golf show to date," said Jon Gurevitch, CN8 sports. "The shoot-out format provides fast-paced competition and is a great opportunity to showcase some of the best amateur golfers in CN8's footprint."

The 32 golfers consist of eight teams from New England and eight teams from the Mid-Atlantic region. The 16 New England golfers compete at Granite Links Golf Club in Quincy, MA and the 16 Mid-Atlantic golfers play at Laurel Creek Country Club in Mount Laurel, NJ. The winners of each region go head-to-head in a final shootout at the Granite Links course. The winning team receives the Golf Shootout championship title and a vacation golf package to Myrtle Beach, SC.

The 15 episode series will air Sunday at 10:00-11:00 PM/ET beginning June 25. Former Red Sox catcher Bob "Monty" Montgomery calls the action, while CN8's Kevin Walsh provides interviews and analysis from the fairways and greens.
